Built and run for the local community
We are in the village of Welton in East Yorkshire, situated at the foot of the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds and just off the A63 trunk road about 4 miles west of the Humber Bridge.
The Hall is fronted by a Georgian era house with a traditional Hall and stage at the rear. The trustees have recently refurbished the Hall, which now has modern toilets, a new kitchen, a separate Meeting Room, together with energy efficient lighting and heating.
Facilities now available include wifi, a cinema system with electric screen, 4k projector and surround sound, together with the appropriate licenses for the sale of alcohol and performing music.
The Hall will hold up to 200 people or 120 seated so is ideal for a wide range of uses including private parties, village events and various other activities including the Welton Community Cinema as well as a range of wellbeing, exercise and arts activities and providing premises for the Lucky Duck café and the Welton Memorial Club which is adjacent.
Regular users include:
- Welton Community Cinema
- Yoga with Emma Whittles
- Rugbytots (starting in September)
- Shinken Dojo Karate Academy
- Defence lab
- Northern Lights Drama
- Cortona Productions, a local theatre company
We also host the following in our buildings:
Running the Hall - built and run for the local community
The Hall is managed by volunteer Trustees as well as other helpers. The Trustees aims are the provision and maintenance of the Hall for the benefit of the inhabitants of the parish of Welton without distinction of political, religious or other opinions, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants. You can see more about what we do in our ANNUAL REPORT. You can also see how we operate by looking at our CONSTITUTION
To run the Hall we do need support, in particular with:
- Keeping an eye on the building maintenance
- Maintaining our website and social media links
- Keeping an eye on our health & safety and other safeguarding issues
- Helping support hirers
If you have any skills that would help us then please contact our Chair, Steve Jibson on 07712 772273 or firstname.lastname@example.org. We also have vacancies for Trustees so please contact Steve if this is something that interest you as well.
